Want to Show Up First on Google? Start Here.
A simple plan to outrank your competitors and get found by the right people.
Hey there 👋🏼
If your business isn’t on the first page of Google, you might as well be invisible.
I know that sounds dramatic - but when was the last time you clicked to page 2?
Here’s the good news:
Getting to the top of Google isn’t magic. It’s math, relevance, and consistency.
This week, I’m breaking down a proven 3-part system we use to help local businesses rank higher, get found, and win more leads.
Let’s go 👇

1️⃣ Step 1: On-Page SEO That Tells Google Exactly What You Do
Google isn’t a mind reader - it’s a pattern matcher.
Your site needs to clearly say:
What you offer
Where you offer it
Why you’re the best option
Here’s how to fix that fast:
Add your primary keyword to the page title, URL, H1, and meta description
Use local modifiers: instead of just “roofing services,” use “roofing services in Dayton, OH”
Create dedicated pages for each service you offer (don’t lump everything on one page)
💡 Pro tip: Use your city name 2–3 times in the body text - but make it natural.
2️⃣ Step 2: Local SEO That Gets You in the Map Pack
You know those 3 businesses that show up in the box with the map when you search on Google?
That’s called the map pack - and you want to be there.
Here’s how:
Claim and optimize your Google Business Profile
Get at least 20 5-star reviews (and respond to every one)
Add real photos, list your services, and post weekly updates
Make sure your Name, Address, and Phone info is consistent across Yelp, Angi, BBB, etc. (citations and directory listings are crucial for SEO to work)
📍 Google wants to recommend trusted local businesses - make it easy for them to trust you.
3️⃣ Step 3: Landing Pages That Target Specific Searches
Want to rank for “emergency AC repair in Phoenix”?
Then you need a page called /emergency-ac-repair-phoenix, built just for that search.
These are called programmatic landing pages. We use them to:
Target long-tail, high-intent searches
Cover multiple services across multiple cities
Increase your visibility without needing 100 blog posts
They’re SEO gold - and they convert like crazy when built right.
🧱 Bonus Tip: Build Backlinks That Boost Credibility
Think of backlinks like online referrals.
The more high-quality sites that link to your website, the more trustworthy you look to Google.
🎯 Start by:
Getting listed in local directories
Asking partners or vendors to link to your site
Guest posting or getting featured on local news or blogs
📊 What to Expect
SEO takes time, but done right, it pays compounding dividends.
✅ More visibility
✅ More trust
✅ More leads—without paying Google for every click
